Day 1 Why I Started WRKCAP - Custom Embroidery Caps

WRKCAP started with an idea that had been in the back of my mind for a long time.
For years, I have wanted to build something around custom designs and merchandise. Last year, I launched PlanetXplorer, a documentary platform where I travel to different places to capture stories through video. While working on those projects, I kept thinking about how powerful it would be to create merchandise that people could connect with, something they could wear to feel part of the experience and at the same time help support the work.
At the same time, some of my clients began asking about hats and uniforms with embroidery. That is when things started to connect. Instead of starting with t-shirts right away, I decided to focus on embroidery, specifically caps and custom pieces, and build from there.
Caps made sense for me.
I have been wearing hats since high school. Back then it was part of the skateboarding culture, something that was just part of who I was. Over time, it became part of my everyday life for travel, for basketball, and for outdoor activities. When I started working independently in video production, I noticed I was wearing caps even more. Today, it is part of my personal brand. When I travel, I usually bring a few with me, just in case.
Starting WRKCAP now also feels right for another reason.
There are upcoming opportunities, events, festivals, and global moments like the World Cup, where people want to represent something. At the same time, many businesses and creators need branded items that reflect who they are. This is where WRKCAP fits in.
This is Day 1.
I am building WRKCAP with a long-term mindset. The goal is to grow slowly and steadily, focusing on quality and consistency. Whether it is a custom cap for a business, a piece for a creator, or something connected to a larger project, the focus is the same, create something that looks clean, feels right, and represents a message.
What makes this different is the approach.
Attention to detail matters. Every piece should feel intentional. That applies to custom work and to the overall direction of the brand. I want to continue improving the process, refining the quality, and building something that people can trust. I also want to collaborate with artists, creators, and leaders to develop designs that represent real ideas and real stories.
WRKCAP is also an extension of the work I already do.
Through video production and marketing, I help brands tell their stories. Now, with WRKCAP, I can help them represent those stories in a physical way, something people can wear.
At the core of all of this is passion.
I got into video production because I enjoy the process of creating. I want the same with WRKCAP. Building something, improving over time, working with others, and enjoying the work every day. Making money matters, but enjoying what I do and creating something I am proud of matters more.
This is just the beginning.
